According to Stephen Heath, travellers pay as much as 12 per cent more for foreign currency at airports including Luton, Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol, instead of buying online.

These days, with inflation more of an issue, a 12 per cent saving on currency exchange rates can significantly improve the spending power of sterling. The Northern Echo investigates.
