As we're only a matter of weeks away from Brits starting to go off on their summer holidays, it seems that the press is turning its credit crunch focus onto how much travel money you can get for your pound sterling.

Don't get caught short on your travel money
The survey showed that while 1000 Euros cost £922 with FairFX, Travelex were charging a whopping £1000 at Heathrow Airport.

The festive period is normally a time to relax and forget about all your worries, but this year it didn’t stop newspapers discussing how much the UK pound sterling was falling against the euro.
Over the past few months, as saving pennies has moved higher on people’s lists, there have been no shortage in journalists prepared to advise readers to order a FairFX Currency Card.
Property Investment website PropertySecrets.com featured FairFX Chief Executive in an article when the £1 hit a lowly value of €1.0229.
In an article in the Telegraph, Heath was quoted as advising: “Anyone buying holiday spending money from Birmingham Airport will be faced with this dire exchange rate before the rest of the country, with Liverpool and Luton airports not far behind.”
The Independent reported on the 3rd January that tour operators have increased the price of package holidays by up to 40%. In the article Heath commented “I expect people will switch out of the euro countries because it's a really expensive place to go now.”
Thankfully over the past couple of days the Euro has weakened slightly against the £ Sterling with all eyes on interest rate announcements due on Thursday.

FairFX.com chief executive Stephen Heath has warned: “The question is now when, not if, we see the pound fall to just one euro to £1, and perhaps slip even lower.”
The quote is taken from an article published today in the Daily Express.
The article also shared that passengers changing £200 at Birmingham and Liverpool airports were given just 187.88 euros yesterday showing the importance of shopping around for your foreign currency.

Stephen Heath, FairFX.com Chief Executive said in the Daily Mail today: "It’s probably only a matter of time before the pound weakens to a point of currency exchange rate parity with the euro."
The article, which questions whether London is becoming one of the bargain capitals of the world for eurozone residents goes on to compare the cost of purchases in France today compared with the same time last year.
