- Use a virtual private network (VPN): When using public Wi-Fi, especially in cafes or hotels, use a VPN to encrypt your internet connection. This helps protect your personal information from potential hackers.
- Beware of free Wi-Fi: Avoid connecting to open, unsecured Wi-Fi networks, especially for sensitive activities like online banking. Scammers can set up fake networks to steal your data.
- Prepaid travel cards: Consider using prepaid travel cards rather than carrying large amounts of cash.These cards can be loaded with a specific amount of money, reducing the risk of financial loss if it's lost or stolen.
